“Where are you heading to break fast
today?”
If the person answers ‘rahsia’
(secret), don’t be puzzled. For there’s a place by that name
and it offers a very special Ramadan buffet.
Located at 13, Jalan Damai in Kuala Lumpur, you might take some
time to find it if you’ve never been there – that’s why
it’s called ‘Rahsia’.
With the theme ‘Berbuka Secara Rahsia’, the Ramadan Buffet
offers delectable Malay cuisine at RM45 nett per person. Its
owner, Oh U-Chen said the menu is changed daily to give guests
variety.
The dishes include starters such as Rojak Buah and Buah Buahan,
soup such as Sup Sayur Cendawan, Daging Masak Halia, Chicken
Keleo, Ikan Pari Masak Asam Pedas, Sayur Campur and Nasi Bukhari.
There is also Asam Laksa and Laksa Lemak and kampung side dishes
such as Pecal Jawa, Ulam Ulaman and Sambal Belacan.
U-Chen added that Rahsia has been offering the Ramadan Buffet
since it started operating five years ago at KL Plaza.
“Business got better but we found that place too small so we
shifted here about two years ago.”
Rahsia’s peaceful and cozy atmosphere and attractive
decorations make it an ideal place to break fast. Each table has
a lit candle for a pleasant ambience.
Rahsia’s Ramadan promotion will end on Nov 12.
Even though the variety of dishes are not as large as those in
hotels, they have their pluses. All are cooked without MSG.
The Ikan Pari Masak Asam Pedas is really appetising with a
perfect blend of spices.
Other specialities include Ikan Bakar Berempah and Sayur Sawi
Pendek Masak Kicap Tiram. Desserts include Kuih Muih Melayu with
coffee or tea.
U-Chen said he picked the name ‘Rahsia’ as ‘it has a
unique and cheeky feel to it’.
U-Chen also loves to cook. You can find some of his recipes
inside the a-la carte menu.
* Rahsia opens from noon till midnight daily, except Monday.
It has a seating capacity of 180. It also takes group bookings
from individuals, companies and institutions and has ample
